Exynos 7 Dual 7270 : Samsung Bets On Chip with Inbuilt LTE Connectivity

Samsung is facing a very difficult situation with its Galaxy Note 7. But this South Korean company is also busy with something else. As we know, Samsung has its presence in several markets of which the chip division is one of the most successful and profitable for the company. In this division precisely it is announcing its latest development. It is aimed at wearables and IoT devices and it is the Exynos 7 Dual 7270 chip.

The new Exynos 7 Dual 7270 is an interesting bet by Samsung, as it is based on the famous 14 nm FinFET process. This technique is being used in their SoC for smartphones. Now Samsung goes a step further in addressing the wearables and IoT market with a total connectivity solution that integrates its first 4G LTE modem itself.

Exynos 7 Dual 7270 with LTE

This new SoC integrates two Cortex-A53 cores, which the company says will offer energy efficiency up to 20% compared to its predecessor, manufactured under 28 nm process. This new chip will have the same power but with greater autonomy, all in a size of only 100 square millimeters and a height reduction by 30%.

The Exynos 7 Dual 7270 integrates “seamless connectivity” to have WiFi, Bluetooth, support for FM Radio, and GPS (GNSS). But the most important part is the addition of a 4G LTE Category 4 modem. This allows devices to connect devices to mobile data network without a smartphone.

This will benefit manufacturers looking to develop wearables like smartwatches and personal quantifiers. Helping them be more independent and enough to run tasks such as geolocation and mobile connection in a single component power. This will hugely benefit the design of the devices and especially capabilities of the batteries.

With this new Exynos 7 Dual 7270 Samsung immerses itself into the race by having economic, small and full connectivity processors. This race is strongly contested by Qualcomm with its Snapdragon 2100 and 1100. Bringing the next generation of wearables seems very interesting. For example Apple was one of the companies placed a SoC with LTE without increasing energy consumption in its Apple Watch. This helped the Apple Watch Series 2 to be launched without the desired mobile connection.

HTC Vive Pre Is The Second Generation Of Virtual Reality

The HTC Vive Pre is the second generation of Virtual Reality. It makes it clear that virtual reality is not just glasses or a headset but goes far beyond. It is integrated sensors mapping rooms, controls (important part of the experience) and content stored on Steam system. But a key point of this system is that it is compatible with Linux, Windows and Mac OS X.

Surprisingly, it is the second generation of virtual reality glasses made in collaboration with Valve. The HTC Vive Pre Lives , which improves on many aspects presented ten months ago.

HTC Vive Pre Preview: winning candidate in virtual reality

The consolidation of virtual reality

Unlike other systems like the Oculus or Samsung Gear VR,  there is total immersion here. The system recognises whether we are standing, sitting, walking, looking to one side or the other or interacting through our hands. The helmet is lightweight but extremely comfortable, plus the system has interchangeable pads and nose support for different sizes, something that makes it comfortable for everyone to use and does not hamper the experience.

One negative point is that we must always be connected to the PC via a cable. This can be dangerous if we are looking at scenarios that require a lot of movement. In my case, I was hooked on the cable in a couple of occasions. But HTC says they are thinking about a system to pass the cable above the head and does not interfere.

An important point is this second version is equipped with a front camera, which will serve to enter augmented reality experiences. But the primary function is to serve as a security camera, if we get closer to a wall or we are about to hit the command with an object in real life, the camera is activated preventively to warn us that we are near something.

Similarly, the idea is not to hinder the experience, and preventive mode of the camera shows light green tones details in our environment. With this you can keep playing without an abrupt halt. The camera in full mode can be activated directly from the control, this will allow us to engage in discussions and activities in real life without take off the glasses.

A truly amazing experience

htc vive pre

Many who have tried other virtual reality systems have mentioned that they can cause nausea. This is mainly due to the refresh rate, but the Pre Valve are optimal at 90 fps. Plus each screen has a resolution of 1200 x 1080 pixels. This makes the immersion total and we really forget that we are in a room.

But certainly, games, guided experiences and 360 degrees photos and videos are so such part of the system, and are worthwhile. The combination of music, sound effects and changing scenarios was something really impressive. It leaves us with a feeling something that is simply impossible to describe in words.

Nokia Android D1C Specs and Features As Spotted On AnTuTu

The brand that dominated the mobile phone market before the arrival of Android and iPhones diluted gradually. Choosing Windows Phone operating system for its smartphones, is a decision that clearly marked its re-course.

Its passage in the hands of Microsoft also served to sales of Lumias and Windows phones. Now it’s high time for Nokia to amend its past mistakes . At any time, although it seems that we will have to wait for the end of the year or early 2017 , Nokia will unveil its new bet in the smartphone world. It aims to do this with the Nokia Android D1C we now know a little more of from AnTuTu.

There has been a lot of news of Nokia going independent of Microsoft and opting for Android. This time it looks more real with a launching event nearing us. The first of these devices is the Nokia Android D1C. We do not know if it will be their final product name or only its technical name.

Nokia Android D1C – A fairly common configuration

nokia android nokia d1c antutu
A week ago the Nokia D1C went through Geekbench , revealing that it carries a Qualcomm 8 – core 1.4 GHz processor with three gigabytes of RAM and Android 7.0 Nougat factory. And now that similar specifications are spotted in AnTuTu, we can confirm that it will house a Snapdragon 430 processor and that indeed, be accompanied by 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM.

The specs added by AnTuTu from what Geekbench has reported is that the internal memory would be 32 GB. It would have a screen resolution of 1920×1080 pixels (but the dimensions are not known yet). And that the cameras would be 13 and 8 megapixels . At first glance it seems a very common configuration in Chinese terminals (remember that manufacturing is carried out by Foxconn).

NO MATTER THE CONFIGURATION IS VERY SIMILAR TO OTHER PHONES, IF NOKIA MANAGES TO PULL-OFF A GOOD DESIGN, THE D1C SALES CAN BRING NOKIA BACK ITS LOST GLORY.

If Nokia stresses on design of the device and puts an attractive price, no one can rule out the possibility of a major sales success. Especially if they arrive in time for Christmas sales thins could get better a lot quicker for Nokia. Though its configuration is simlar to that of many other phones, the reliable housing for what Nokia is famous for could earn it all the minimum sales.

ODROID C2 Looks Like The Best Alternative To Raspberry Pi 3

Raspberry Pi 3 is a credit -card sized powerful and low cost mini computer. If you have not gone through its specifications yet, check out our previous post on Raspberry Pi 3 Specifications and Features. Assuming you know of it, I surely believe you are interested in Raspberry Pi 3, isn’t? Wait, ODROID C2, is an alternative to Raspberry Pi 3 that is released in March 2016 and offers more power and in the same price range. There is a long debate about ODROID C2 putting Raspberry Pi 3 on the ropes. Let us see.

ODROID C2 vs raspberry pi 3

By March 2016 the project Raspberry Pi Foundation has completed 4 years. In this short time it has managed to put into the market more than 8 million Raspberry Pi (and 10 Million Raspberry Pi sales completed by September 2016). It is true that this minicomputer is the most popular and has a huge community behind. But this doesn;t mean they are the only ones present. This article brings to light ODROID C2 which one such minicomputer which could dethrone Raspberry Pi 3 in the near future.

ODROID C2 is the product of a company called Hardkernel. This is the company behind many electronic components from boards to camera modules or adapters. It’s C2 board is a worthy rival for the Raspberry Pi 3 and has even surpassed it in some sections.

Features of ODROID C2

At the heart of ODROID C2 is a Amlogic S905 SoC with a quad – core ARM Cortex A53 CPU. Though the BCM2837 of Raspberry Pi 3 has the same quad core processor, its clock speed of 1.2GHz is lower compared to the 2GHz clock speed in ODROID C2.

Even in the section of memory, the Hardkernels’ ODROID C2 scores better with 2GB of DDR3 RAM. While in Raspberry Pi 3 there is only 1GB DDR2 RAM which disappointed many enthusiasts at its launch itself. This is because users have started to exploit the minicomputer more and the 1GB DDR2 RAM is no longer sufficient.

odroid c2 vs raspberry pi 3

Another point where the ODROID C2 leads the Raspberry Pi 3 is the Gigabit Ethernet port. However, the lack of integrated Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity is a negative for the ODROID C2. Hence you will have to keep using those USB Adaptors to get your board up and connect to the network.

Price and additional features

There are other like the HDMI port that supports 4K signal, built-in analog to digital convertor. ODROID C2 can run the Ubutu 16.04 or the Android Lollipop operating system. Despite all these additional features and many other boards posing as Pi killers, the fact that the ODROID C2 offers all this at a price of only $ 15 more is quite interesting. While the Raspberry Pi 3 costs $ 35, the C2 costs $ 50.

So which board will you prefer to buy? Raspberry Pi 3? or ODROID C2? Before you make up your mind, here’s one last important point. The Raspberry Pi Foundation has a vast online community with many developers working on it world-wide. We have previously collected several Raspberry Pi FAQs to help you get started right away.

In case you are a beginner you might want to consider the fact that the Hardkernal’s prototyping community is yet to build. Though the company looks ambitious to increase it with several other boards in the line-up the support you get right away is questionable. But if you are experienced using the Raspberry Pi 3 then there’s no reason why you shouldn’t get a ODROID C2 at the earliest and help build the community.

Google Wi-Fi: Google Wants To Enter Our Homes With Their Attachable Routers

Google is the new wireless router company into the market. In this article we highlight the motto behind this release and the strengths of this Google WiFI compared to the broad competence found in this product range?

Google’s intention is to ensure us with uninterrupted wireless connection at any point in our house. This is already being done using access points or a PLC, though. The difference is that Google intends to extend the Wi-Fi through the use of a number of easy plug-in modules.

These are similar to our routers but have a very stylish design. Far away from the black tones of the failed Google Nexus Q Google Wifi presents a beautiful, minimalist finish with a striking cylindrical shape.

google wifi-min

Google WiFi is to be installed at several points in our home(we can get a pack of three for 299 dollars). Each of these can help achieve an excellent coverage even in large house with area of 140 m2). Google WiFi for its operation uses a system called mesh-WiFi signal that delivers precisely to the points that need it most.

Each Google WiFi has inside it a quad-core CPU, a WiFi dual-band (2.4 GHz / 5 GHz) and two Ethernet. The set of three of these devices would help you with good wireless connection for upto 418 square meters.

Basic specifications of Google Wifi:

  • Wi-Fi AC1200 2×2 Wave 2
  • Quad-core CPU (each up to 710 MHz)
  • Wi-Fi mesh technology
  • Wi-Fi simultaneous dual-band (2.4GHz / 5GHz) compatible with IEEE 802.11a / b / g / n / ac
  • 2 Ethernet router ports. The ports can be configured as WAN or LAN
  • WPA2-PSK
  • Power adapter 15 W, consumes approximately 9 W

An app to control all

google wifi-min

To manage Google Wifi, you will have to use their own application. With this application you can configure the router, share your password easily, control which devices are connected and give priority to a device over another. This is something particularly useful if for example we have a connected computer and want the network has more power in it at any given time against such a console.

Moreover, unlike other current solutions, Google WiFi modules are connected almost automatically. The protocols that unites these have high security to prevent intruders onto our home WiFi network. Not that with current solutions interconnect devices is complicated, but Google says its proposal is much simpler.

Price and Availability

google wifi

Google Wifi will take orders in the United States from November this year at a price of $ 129. The three routers pack costs $ 299.

Google Pixel and Pixel XL: Getting To Know The ‘Phone By Google’

Google has at last presented its two new smartphones. With these two new smartphones Google aims to compete with Apple and its iPhone 7 on the market. In this article you get to know about the ‘made by google’ smartphones. These are the features, price and release date of the new Google Pixel and the Google Pixel XL.

Google Pixel: The compact option

The Google Pixel is the most compact smartphone of the two launched by the company. Its screen has dimensions of 5 inches and a full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. This seems more than enough for a phone with a screen this size. No Quad HD in this model, but the resolution will be more than sufficient for a phone with such a small screen. Of course, being a smaller smartphone, with a smaller screen, the power consumption is lower, and the battery is only 2,770 mAh. The dimensions of this release are 143.8 x 69.5 in x 8.6 mm, with a weight of 143 grams.

Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL Sizes: Phone By Google

Google Pixel XL, the big flagship

Although not very different, the Google Pixel XL comes betting on a higher size with a 5.5 – inch screen. It features a Quad HD screen with 2,560 x 1,440 pixels resolution. Also, its battery has superior capacity of 3,450 mAh to provide autonomy for the smartphone to power the larger screen. As the dimensions of the smartphone are concerned, we have a size of 154.7 x 75.7 x 8.6 mm. The weight of this version is 168 grams.

High level performance

The two smartphones have the same technical characteristics. Since we can not expect otherwise, the new Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL can boast of having higher performance by including the most current Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor with four cores, and capable of a frequency of 2.15 GHz clock. Meanwhile, its RAM is 4GB, and the smartphone is available in two versions, with 32GB memory and 128GB, and can’t be extended using microSD. In any case, more memory is not necessary because we have unlimited cloud space.

Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL Specs: Phone By Google

Unlimited Space

The most deals in our smartphone are the photos and videos. And with cameras every time we find more quality videos and photos that increasingly take up more space. What is the solution? SD Cards? They could be. However, it is not the case with the Google Pixel, because they do not have the ability to expand the memory via a microSD card. So? Google offers us unlimited space in the cloud to sync photos and videos automatically, and most importantly, in their original quality, which will certainly be very positive for all users.

The best mobile camera

Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL Camera: Phone By Google

Each time a new mobile is launched, it is said to have the best camera on the market. However, in this case, yes, we are talking about something real. The Google Pixel has the best camera of all mobile market. DxOMark, who have analyzed the smartphone, gave a score of 89 surpassing the iPhone 7. Three main points have contributed to this 12.3 – megapixel camera that is included in the smartphone. Good optimization between camera and processor to manage the photos in the best way possible, and to capture photos burst and HDR +. Besides all that, the mobile is capable of recording video in 4K, and has a image stabilization not found in other phones (all this has been achieved without a dual camera).

Sleek and Elegant Design

Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL Camera: Phone By Google

With a thickness of 8.6 mm, the Google Pixel is a fine smartphone in its two versions. Obviously, one of them is bigger than the other, being one of superior size. However, Google Pixel can boast a sober and elegant design. Actually we only see the Google logo on the back, and nothing else. The smartphone is made up of aluminium casing. And without forgetting has a very characteristic appearance, with a plastic section found around the camera.

These smartphone comes in three versions, one is silver, another is a version of black color, and other special limited version of dark blue color.

Availability and Pricing

Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL Models: Phone By Google

Regarding the release date and availability of Google Pixel, I must say that these phones are not particularly cheap. They will be available to book from today in English-speaking countries like the US, UK, Australia and Canada and will come to India on October 13. In any case, its price of $ 650, but probably the biggest version will be more expensive, as well as versions with an internal memory of more capacity.

Anyways, the arrival of the Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL are announced with the Google Assistant, which promises to be far better than existing assistants with leap in Machine Learning and AI capabilities.
